Flat beans subji is simple which is made in every maharastrain family. simple to make and delicious to eat. its perfect for lunch box.it perfectly goes with fulka and chapaties. flat beans is a winter subji. it can also be a perfect side dish with your usual comfort Food-Dal Chawal. This is a good combination of flat beans and peanut powder. I used peanut powder because it gives some crunchiness in subji and good flavour. do try this recipe at home.

Ingredients

  • 250 gm of Flat Beans.

  • 1 large Onion.

  • 1 tsp of Turmeric powder.

  • Salt as per taste.

  • 1 tsp Red chili powder.

  • 1 tsp Coriender powder.

  • 1 cup of Water.

  • Cumin seeds and Mustard seeds [ for tempring ]

  • Garam Masala.

  • 2 tsp of Cooking oil.

  • 2 tsp of Peanut Powder.

Directions

  • Take 250 gm of flat beans.
  • Cut the flat beans and wash it.
  • Heat 1 tsp of oil into pan. Once the oil is heat put flat beans. shallow fry them for 1-2 min.
  • keep aside fried beans.
  • heat 1 tsp of oil in pan then add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. let them crackle.
  • Then add 1 chopped onion. Saute till onions gets golden brown.
  • Then add chili powder, turmeric powder and coriender powder. mix it well. cooked Masala for 2 mins.
  • Add Fried Beans. mix it well. then add half cup of water. stir it well. Add salt as per taste.
  • Then add 2 tsp of peanut powder and garam masala. mix it well.
  • Cook it for 10 min. Flat Beans has now become soft and there is no excess quantity of water.
  • Flat beans subji is ready to serve. it’s perfect for lunch box.
