It’s a simple cabbage subji which can be a good addition to any menu. Great way to get cabbage into your daily diet.I only hated this subji when mom used to put it in lunchbox during my school days.I just added cumin seeds,mustard seeds,chiles,curry leaf and cabbage just stir fry it with little oil n salt to taste..garnish it with grated coconut and coriander leaves.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium sized Cabbage

  • 1 tsp of Toor Dal

  • 2 tsp of Oil

  • 1 tsp of Mustard Seeds

  • 1 tsp of Cumin Seeds

  • Curry leaves

  • 2 Chilies

  • 1 Onion

  • Turmeric

  • Salt as per taste

  • 1/2 cup of Water

Directions

  • Soak the Toor dal in water for about 10-15 min.
  • Take medium sized cabbage and chop it finely.
  • Heat the pan and add oil. Then we need to add chopped cabbage to fry. Fry it for 10 min.
  • Once it shallow fried take it out in a dish.
  • Heat the oil in a kadhai and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds. Once its crackle add chopped chilies, curry leaves, chopped onion.
  • Once onion gets cooked add cabbage and soaked toor dal.
  • Mix it well. Add salt as per taste.
  • Cover pan with lid and cook it for about 10 min.
  • After 10 min add chopped coriander leaves. for garnish use grated coconut.
  • Stir fry cabbage subji is ready to serve.
